Supercharged Police Car

June 2018

On the quest for a new commuter I came across a retired Chevrolet Caprice Police car. Struck with inspiration I decided to build what I dubbed “the wolf in shepherds clothing.”

Powered by a modified Chevrolet LSA supercharged V8, this former Pierce County Sheriff’s car made 700 horsepower when I was done with it; but looked completely stock from the outside.

Although much of the powertrain was taken from a Camaro ZL1 which shares the basic platform with the Caprice, fitting it to the Caprice was no small task. The engine was built specifically to deal with the additional power and a huge amount of fabrication and tuning went in to making it run properly.
